Devon Hall started his career right here on the courts of Cape Henry Collegiate post-graduation before heading to the University of Virginia where he experienced a four-year athletic career. In 2018, he was a second-round NBA draft pick by the Oklahoma City Thunder. He now plays in the European league for Germany’s Brose Bamberg.
The Virginia Beach native attributes sports to keeping him and his brother out of trouble growing up. “We put so much time into our sports and education that we had no time for outside distractions. Basketball has given me a foundation for life as a whole. I’ve learned about work ethic, discipline, and also how to work with others in difficult situations.”
Hall has made a generous multi-year commitment to PlayOn via his scholarship program, The Long Hall. Funds will be used exclusively to make the area’s Wave Basketball Club accessible to members of our community who may not be able to afford to participate.
”It means everything to me to be able to give back to the very same community that has supported me throughout my life. When I was young, I sought out guidance and wanted someone to speak to me about life lessons. I want to be able to do that for any kid that needs or wants that guidance.”
